About Frame 24 Archival
We search the Library of Congress, the U.S. National Archives, the Smithsonian and NASA for remarkable photographs, restore them from the original scans and publish them as printable black & white wall art.
Where the photographs come from
Every photograph on this site is in the public domain in the United States: works of the U.S. federal government, or photographs whose copyright has expired or was never renewed, as recorded by the archive that holds them. Each photo page links to the original archive record.
How we restore them
We start from the archive’s highest-resolution scan, then remove dust, scratches and damage, balance the tones, enlarge the image for print and set it in a museum-style archival layout with its title, date and source.
Licensing
The original photographs are public domain. Our restorations, layouts and print files are sold as digital downloads for personal use through our Etsy shop: print them as many times as you like for your own home or as gifts. Preview images on this site are watermarked and may not be resold. For other uses, contact us through Etsy.
